Hi,
Just a quick question, I have just used the switch service to change from Lloyds to First Direct, and have a quick question about bills. Will all existing DD's be changed to the First Direct account (Including Wage, Mortgage etc) also, I am changing suppliers of Elec and Gas to E-on to be completed on the 20th Feb will this also be changed or will I have to contact them?
Any advice is appreciated if anyone else has done the same.
Regards

Everything should be automatic. According to the switch guarantee:
"We will take care of moving all your payments going out (for example, your Direct Debits and standing orders) and those coming in (for example, your salary)."
and
"If anything goes wrong with the switch, as soon as we are told, we will refund any interest (paid or lost) and charges made on either your old or new current accounts as a result of this failure."

Might put a bit of a spanner in the DD works.
Just check that the DD's are set up before you switch on old acc. If not you will need to advise E-on with the new acc details.Life in the slow lane0 -

Existing DDs will be switched as will incoming payments, however, it makes sense to inform your employer.
When does the switch complete or has it already completed?
Which account have you told EON to take DDs from?0 -
Hi,
E-on is due to be switched on the 20th Feb, not sure about First direct I tried to call them but they have nothing on file as on yet? I have told E-On to take DDs from my Lloyds account0 -
First Direct will only move DDs that existed on your Lloyds account on the day of the switch. So it depends on whether your E-On DD had already been recorded at Lloyds. If not, you need to give E-On your new sort code and account number. You might be able to do this in your E-On account online0
