In the NEWBIE sticky there are links to 17 pre-written defences, read and adapt one of those, then read some more defences already posted by others on the forum.  You can search for similar circumstances as your own, although I cannot advise you how as I haven't tried the search function since the new forum went live.

Just tested the search function, it is OK an quite intuitive, if you click on Advanced Search
Click back until you are in the main parking forum, today it is the first thread, click on that and scroll down (it is the second post - although the post numbers have disappeared) and keep scrolling until you see: -
Here are some cases won or in progress:
Here is a defence I suggested for a case where a RingGo app carried forward a default VRN for the wrong car, so that the driver was not at fault and the inaccuracy came from the PPC's app:

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Would complaining to the MP get this cancelled so late into this process?

One thing is certain - if you don't complain to your MP he definitely will not be helping you.

Anyway, it is only going to be action by government that is going to rid this country of this unregulated industry.

If I go back to the place and take photographs of signage, would that even count as evidence? As, surely it will have been updated to benefit them when people fight back.
I am going to look very silly in court lol.

Wow, there are defences here EVERY DAY.  What are you doing wrong?
Why are you not simply reading the NEWBIES thread that has 17 defence examples?  Your case is NOT different than any other.  None are!

You've been told that it is TWO clicks from here. My signature below every post, tells you where it is.  The only people who struggle with finding it is people who think they a can use their tiny weeny ickle phone for this forum; a dreadful idea.

I have no NTK and no evidence of signage/similar from 2016.

Most people here who manage to write a defence have no NTK because they threw it away.  And most people can find the signs by changing the date on Google StreetView to find older images if GSV has a road going past the place.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was using a phone. It doesn't matter. Thanks anyway

It does matter, we want to help you.

There is NO WAY you can use a phone to read, research & write a defence, that would be like using a phone to write a University dissertation.  You need to get on  a PC or laptop, even if you borrow one.
