Its worth opening the RBS rewards account as well now for an additional £3.
Seems not worthwhile anymore, may just switch my account to Santander.
What makes it not worthwhile? I moved bills to Santander that earn cashback, kept my RBS with two other DD's and opened Natwest with another two DD's. So I earn £6 more than if I had just fully switched to Santander

I'm thinking of doing a similar abz88. Although it will take a little more mangement I figure I might as well try to maximise the cashback.
I would have preferred it if they left it alone though. My rewards have gone from £9/10 for £3, to £6 for £2 to now £5 for £2 in the last few years. I rarely get any rewards from purchases vs DDs so my returns seem to be getting ever smaller...
Is there a break down of exactly what is earnt where/when from rewards? I swear there are things I should have earnt on and never did and even the pending amout seems to change sometimes. I've always thought there must be but i've never found it beyond the breakdown between DD, DC and credit card.
EDIT; Meant to say I was still waiting of the DD rewards for this month as only has £1 pending but now I have checked again it is showing £5 pending for what I assume is this months.

Yes, in the current climate, it looks like there will be a little more management required to get ever diminishing rewards!

For RBS (I assume for NatWest as well), if you log on to your My Rewards page, it should show you the amount earned against each qualifying DD or purchase.
  • My account now shows the £4 (£2 x 2) reward for DDs this month as well as the £1 for logging in, which I do daily anyway.

The £4 reward is dated yesterday (10 Feb) so perhaps it was there then but I didn't notice it.  I imagine it was for DDs to EE on 6th and Bulb Energy on 10th, so seems to now post pretty quickly after the second DD.

It's only about £2 less per month for us as we rarely went above £7 cashback - "too much" moneysaving getting the bills down! - so the drop to £5 max now isn't that bad (both less the £2 fee).  Still would rather have had the extra of course.

My £4 (£2 x 2) is also there now and dated 10th Feb but was not there when I logged in earlier today (at about 3pm). The actual DDs were on the 5th Feb and 10th Feb so much the same as yours.

For what its worth your EE would get 3% and Bulb 2% cashback in a Santander Lite account for a £1 monthly fee. This is paid monthly into the bank account. In my case 2 days after they go out so much better than the 35 day delay that I used to get in my NatWest Rewards account.

If you rarely went about £7, would you not be better off now with Santander 123 Lite for qualifying DDs plus RBS and NatWest for others?

does anyone know whether the same DD paid out weekly qualifies as at least two direct debits per month (as it does for Coop bank rewards)?
  • So, I've changed my current account from Select to Reward. Do I need to register for rewards somewhere?

When I open the app, it shows the account is NatWest Reward
below that is MyRewards which still shows zero.

You guys said you already have 1 quid for logging into your app. I still don't have anything. One DD is already active, the other one will come out for the first time on 24 Feb.
