Car not insured as waiting for collection

Hi guys, I have joined today as I have a real problem.. my mum sadly passed away on the 6th Jan and her car was on the Ford options scheme. To cut a long story short they have said they will collect it but I haven’t had an answer as to when yet. I took on dealing with the situation and I signed an indemnity form and now I’m panicking because the car is in my drive but not insured and if it was stolen it would be 17k owing.. can I get get temp cover for a car that isn’t mine and technically isn’t owned? What should I do.. any help would be great

Call them and ask them to collect it urgently?

Yes I have emailed the collection dept, they do not have a phone number or at least I can’t get through to the right dept if they have! I have filled up my email requesting a date as I also need to be at home to hand over so I need to be out of work for an hour or so also!

Who was her existing car insurer (or was it part of the Ford options package)?  Have you spoken to the insurers as I believe that some will continue the insurance on for a period (1 month or so) until the car can be sold or otherwise disposed. 

You also mention that you've signed an indemnity..what was this for? Does that mean Ford have accepted the car back and that it is therefore now their issue re insurance?
