Final bill compensation
Options
Hi,
I moved from Tonik Energy to Igloo on 20th December, The 6 week mark passed by on 31st January and still not received my final bill. I am owed over £100 in credit from my old energy company. I have sent in a complaint. What sort if any compensation, should i expect? and does anyone know what I else I can do?
Thanks,

What quantifiable loss have you incurred?0 -

You're due compo if they don't refund your credit within two weeks of your final bill.
However, AFAIK in Ofgem's weird and wonderful world there's no sanction if they fail to produce the final bill within six weeks of the changeover to a new supplier.0 -
Has igloo send your final reads over to tonik to close your account correctly?Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0

Igloo say that they are waiting on the "independent verifier"..0

Quite correct. People expect over-payments to be returned promptly but until the final bill is produced there are no sanctions for them not doing so.
The reading will have been sent to the new supplier, the new supplier wil have told the old supplier, the new supplier will get your reading verified. They may change your supply over in the meantime. At some point a reading will be set and given to your old supplier at which time they should then send you a final bill and if a refund is due at some point after which (for which there is a penalty if not done promptly).
So it may have more to do with your new supplier than your old one.0 -
you really got to find a hobby rather than just posting pointless stuff on this forum.
Not having over £100 over Christmas period isn't exactly the best time.. bore off0 -
You already got the right answer in #4, no compensation due at this time.
The clock doesn't start until you get your final bill from your old supplier.0
