I have just installed a home hub and it seems to be working fine though I keep getting a "Dial Up" message and obviously it wont now let me dial up as the broadband is on but I dont know how to stop it coming up.
Also, sorry .............but when I click on a link from my e-mails it says you are offline and then I have to press "Go online" even though I have got IE already open.
Any ideas please on how I can solve this, would be very much appreciated.

Have you installed any BT software? Are you using USB? Remove any BT software and use Ethernet. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I've been paying for Broadband for quite some time though it was only on a dail up basis - I fitted the Hub yesterday, the PC is connected to the hub through the ethernet (the yellow cable) is that right?
The speed is 3.488596Mb/s after checking with your link.
Thank you for taking the time to repy to me - I'm not very PC savvy at all0 -

I assume that you mean that previously you connected using a USB modem?

Cables come in various colours but you should be using a cable that is physically different to the USB connector used on the USB modem that looks similar to this:

Pages should load fast if your speed is 3.5Mb/s, have you cleared out your temporary internet files etc. in your browser? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
It was a speedtouch modem if that helps. I've cleared the the temp internet files so will see if that helps. also the connection does look different than the speedtouch0
