Ryanair changed my flight on 10th July to 9th to Girona

Got an email saying that they have cancelled the flight on 10th July and rebooked it on 9th July reaching Girona at 21.45 hrs. I am flying from Stansted.
It says you can get a refund. But I have made bookings n taken leave. Are they not supposed to offer me flight same day with other airlines? What are my rights?
Thanks
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

Are there other flights STN/GRO that same day?

If so, in theory under EU261 provisions you are entitled to ask for a rerouting onto another carrier, In practice however I doubt Ryanair will do this given that they have an alternative to offer and given you more than 14 days notice.

Perhaps research to see if an alternative airline (like Jet2) has a STN/GRO flight on 10th July, or if there is something else that suits ex LTN - then call and ask RyanAir about them re-accommodating you with another airline. Given this is a LCC airline with no interline agreements, I wouldn't however get your hopes up. Should do and will do are different things to RyanAir.

You might need to take the refund option and work on a Plan B.

This is the link to the CAA information on cancellation by the airline. https://www.caa.co.uk/Passengers/Resolving-travel-problems/Delays-cancellations/Cancellations/Short-haul-cancellations/

However, I can see Ryanair trying to claim they haven't cancelled the flight but rescheduled it. The rules around the different scenarios are different. For cancellation it is the customer's choice whether to accept a refund or demand a move to another airline. For rescheduling it's not so clear cut.

    Thanks everyone.
Managed to speak to them on the phone and changed the booking to fly to Barcelona airport instead of Girona as Girona doesn't have any flights now on the 10th July from Stanstead. Was trying on the online chat yesterday and today which is totally useless. They keep you waiting for ages although it says wait time is 2 to 5min. Avoid.
