I'm in the procees of sorting and confirming a morgage, and I need to prove the existence of a deposit via a bank statement.

The money in question sits in a Post Office Online Bond account, and my lender wont accept a screenshot of my online login / banking as proof. Is it possible to get either a downloadable pdf statement or physical one?

Thanks!

Have you asked them? Their website says this, so not sure why you can't print what you need:

"You can view and print–off your Bond balance online 24/7 using our online banking service. You will receive a final statement of your account after your Bond has matured. In addition to these, you'll also benefit from an Annual eTax Certificate – we'll email you when this is available to view in the Online Bank."

  • That seems to throw up a basic page, while my lender requires a document with the balance + my name, address etc.

Print out a statement and save to pdf instead of sending to a printer? That's what I did when I had to do this for my PO savings account. My solicitor was happy with this.

Or just ask the lender what they will accept, given the constraints of the particular account.

Oops misread the info I posted. Could've sworn it said statement!

  • Just confirm from the person first so you will know the right thing to do next
