  • Hi,

I just tried to login to my Equifax account to see my statutory report. When I click on the 'Login' button, the following message comes up in a dialog box:
Something went wrong. That action is not allowed.

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Equifax, Inc.

    Reference ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So it looks like they have a problem at the Equifax end of things :)
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

Me too, the site appeared to be down for maintenance last weekend, haven’t been able to log in since - getting the following message:
Unfortunately, we have been unable to activate your account online using the information that you have provided. Please contact our Customer Care Team to complete your order.
No joy speaking to them on the phone, they just say it is a technical problem.

I rejoined Equifax after my data was hacked. I received this email yesterday and now cannot login, and getting the same error as "Willing2Learn".
Following the cyber-attack against Equifax Inc, our US parent company, in May 2017, we offered a number of our services, to those UK consumers whose data may have been compromised. You were one of the consumers that signed up for the Equifax Protect service - free for two years. We are glad that you have continued to use the Equifax Protect service over the last two years and we hope you have found it useful.

Since the cyber-incident we have been monitoring the situation for any evidence that the data compromised in that incident may have been misused. So far, we have not seen any indication to suggest it has been. Nevertheless, we continue to keep the position under review.

In the circumstances, we have decided as a gesture of goodwill to extend your Equifax service for another 12 months, so you can continue to benefit from the peace of mind that Equifax Protect has given you. Towards the end of this additional 12 months we will send you an email notifying you on what steps you need to take should you wish to continue with your Equifax Protect service. In the meantime, we will continue to monitor the situation for the benefit and protection of consumers.

If you no longer wish to receive this Equifax service you can cancel by logging into your Equifax account and choose the My Account tab, or you can call us using either of the numbers shown below.

0800 014 2955 –Calls are free from UK landlines and mobiles
0333 321 4043 - Calls from landlines and mobiles are normally included in bundled call packages, otherwise calls cost 15p per minute plus 23p set up fee from a BT landline. Other networks and mobiles may vary.

If you have any further questions about this email or your Equifax service, please call us. Our Customer Service Agents are available 8am – 8pm (closed 3pm 24th – 8am 27th December) to answer any questions you have about your Equifax service.

If you have recently cancelled your Equifax service with us, please ignore this email.

    Kind regards

    The Equifax Team

I was speaking to a friend and their Equifax is working and they also had been given free access after the Equifax hacking. He thinks my account has been hacked, so I urge anyone who is having technical problems to get in touch with Equifax immediately.
