Hi all,
I have seen a house that I am interested in making a long term family home as the house and land with it are ideal for my needs.
The issue I have is that there is a Quarry Near it and want to try and get some information on it and its long term future as i do not want to buy a house and then the Quarry is used as a land fill site by the council once their license to excavate has expired.
Is there anyway I can find out this information easily?
The Quarry in question is Howley Park in Leeds.
Thanks.

From that, I suspect that the site is being used in part as landfill for hazardous waste. From a quarrying point of view, there are substantial quantities of material available for extraction, so the site may well be in use for a long time.
The local council will have policy documents regarding long term use of the site, be it for quarrying or landfill - Get in contact with them and ask.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -

You can't ever know this for certain. You could only (possibly) find out about existing plans but you can't factor in whether they might apply for a permit tomorrow.
However landfill has become much less common over recent times for a number of reasons (exorbitant landfill tax, more insistence from national and local government on recycling targets, better recycling options, general dislike by the public) and sites are closing, not new ones opening.1 -
Thanks all for your responses, I will look into contacting the council to get an answer, but god knows who in the council lolDate of Update – 08/04/19
