PCP write off

Have a look at your Gap policy, mine is with Total Loss Gap, it should pay towards your insurance excess, mine pays upto £250.
Mine is Combined, so it pays the highest of
Outstanding finance
The invoice price
The cost of an identical replacement (or the nearest that the manufacturer supplies)
It will be an absolute bargain if it is written off in the 5th yearI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

So it does...! I have the same policy and didn't see that bit!
Although I just renewed with GoCompare and that currently includes excess insurance for £250 as part of their new offer, so I'm doubly covered...!0 -
You now need to hope your insurance and GAP agree how much each are responsible for paying quickly.0

DO NOT use pcp for used cars only new ones and then only after careful consideration and a clear understanding of what you sign up to.
Consider should you finance a car that will be out of warranty? So if a 36m warranty don't pcp for 48m.
Sonds as like you maybe need to look at a loan and buying a cheaper car.0 -
I've just been quoted £260 for three years GAP on a new £22k car and after the hassle of my last two, I might pay it!
There's an MSE page with discount codes, have a look at that.

£130 a month will get you into a new car, but you'd might be pushed to get an auto for that.
Have a look at some of the online motoring press like Auto Express, Whatcar etc, they usually run monthly lists of PCP deals under £100 or £150 an month and Best Auto lists.
Then use sites like Carwow and Drive the Deal to try and save some money.
A couple of small cars with 5 and 7 year warranties are the Hyundai i10 and the Kia Picanto, both have proper torque converter automatic gearboxes and are generally a good buy compared to some automated manual geared headaches that are available.
I don't know who you work for, but some manufacturers off discounts for new cars if you work for the NHS, Ambulance, Fire, M&S etc, I just scored a 20% discount on a new Clio this way.0
