Vent - The Skinny Food Company

Options
Apologies if this is in the wrong topic. Let me know and I'll ask to move.

Ordered some sauces and pancake mixes from this company 20th of January. They have set up Royal Mail tracking number 28th of January but yet to actually send to parcel to RM.

The most annoying part is lots of people are complaining on their Facebook about missing or incomplete deliveries and they are deleting every comment and post.

Their email team have advised nothing they can do as it's 'been shipped' and to return it if I'm not happy.

Just about of a vent/warning for anyone else thinking of ordering.

They have a number of " nutrition" and what some might call snake oil companies.
One is called the skinny caffe
    https://www.skinnycaffe.com
    See their bad reviews
    https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/theskinnycaffe.com

Then there's the asa complaint against them
    https://www.asa.org.uk/non-compliant/the-white-star-key-group-ltd.html

"Despite repeated requests from the CAP Compliance team, The White Star Key Group Ltd trading as the Skinny Caffe continues to advertise problematic health claims and weight loss claims on its website, https://www.theskinnycaffe.com, whilst also omitting material information about their SUBSCRIPTION packages.**

Due to The White Star Key Group Ltd’s non-compliance and DISREGARD for the CAP Code, the CAP Compliance team took the decision to place its company details on this section of the ASA website on 6 August 2019. These details shall remain in place until they remove the claims outlined above from its website, www.theskinnycaffe.com."

    Could it get any worse..

"An "irresponsible" weight loss plug for a Chorley business posted on Instagram by reality TV star Jemma Lucy while she was pregnant has been banned by watchdogs."

    https://www.lep.co.uk/news/people/ex-beach-star-jemma-lucys-ad-chorley-firm-banned-watchdog-664764

    And
"The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) also challenged whether the claim “You can lose up to 7lbs in 7 days with THERMOSYN " was in breach of rules for implying a rate or amount of weight loss attributed to consumption of a food.

An investigation was launched and all three issues were upheld."

Yes, it got worse.. " Almost died ..anaphylactic shock"
Another of their partner companies "JST nutrition "
    https://www.jstnutrition.co.uk

"Melissa, of Bridgend, South Wales, ordered a detox programme including an £8.75 nutritional supplement – called JST Jodie Marsh JFlext Joint Care – after reading Jodie’s posts about her JST Nutrition range
    on Instagram .

She was so impressed with 40-year-old model Jodie’s body transformation that she bought the pills in an attempt to replicate it. But iodine – which she is severely *ALLERGIC ** to – was NOT listed in the ingredients section of the product’s website, despite being contained in the pills."

From me, just to,add, there's no proof that anything called a detox actually works..btw

I bought a few of their sauces and they were disgusting, watery and artificial tasting, which is no surprise when you read the ingredients.
They always delete any negative post on their FB page.

I have tried some of their sauces...The custard was actually not too bad...many of the others ruined my MSE credentials as they went into the bin!
I have lost a considerable amount of weight...through changing my eating habits. I have no objections to products that help you eat more healthily...skimmed/semiskimmed milk, lower fat cheese, even a sugar free coke (although water is the most diet friendly and MSE choice!)...but I get angry with companies that plug quick-fixes to weight loss.
The two 'big' weight loss magazines regularly carry adverts for Skinny Sauces - I wonder of they are aware of the company links to products such as Thermosyn?
