Computershare Bradford and Bingley outstanding payments

Hi,
A few months back I got a letter from Computershare containing a cheque for "outstanding payments" I was due, not a huge amount but an unexpected cheque for £30 is always nice. I used to get share dividents from Computershare, but havent heard anything from them for a decade or so since B&B collapsed. So it was a bit of a surprise to get a letter telling me to cash the cheque within 6 months or else they'll start charging me £6 a year for administration of my account.
Anyway I just found the cheque today having lost it. But it got me wondering why after 11 years I was being sent a cheque at all? I assumed any money to do with my shares would be long gone and any accounts I still have would be with Santander.
Anyone got any ideas?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but as I assume its to do with my old shares it seemed the best bet.

We too had shares in them but we've not received any letter/cheque from them for years, so I'd assume that you may have forgotten to pay in a dividend cheque before they went belly up.
I would have thought that they would have been in contact sooner, but maybe you moved house and they lost contact?0 -
Ive just checked my computer share account and lo and behold my pre nationalisation Bradford & Bingley are listed there. I've never had a letter from them about payment or a cheque.0

Thanks that sounds sort of right. Ive got a vague memory of either not paying one in or I didn't get one when other members of my family did. Still surprised the money was still there and that its shown up after so long as I havent moved in that time.
Anyway that seems the most likely explanation.0 -
The last B & B cheque I got was a dividend one around a year after they went belly up.0
