I have replaced the clutch and gearbox on this leaseThe_Rainmaker wrote: »And a burnt out clutch on the previous lease. :rotfl::rotfl:
not sure what relevance that is to this question about keys though. 0 -
sorry only just seen this post. is that possible? Ford dealer quoted me £250 for "a new key" meaning keyfob.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »Have you tried the manufacturer to see if they can supply a key using the VIN or registration number?0 -
Interested by the people saying damage can be claimed as your fault after the event of handing over, regardless of how ridiculous.
Are you saying it would be on the OP to prove that the chap removed the back of the fob, removed the key blade and put it back together? How and where would you even begin with that? Or are you suggesting the OP should have photos of the inside of the key fobs from the date of handover to prove they were there at the time?0 -
For £150, or £250, I think you should just get it sorted. Why have it hanging over your head? Why risk losing the only working key whilst still in your ownership?0

If it was the only thing then yes I would. But I have around £800 (my estimate) of other things I need to pay for the car before handover in 2 months. For £150, or £250, I think you should just get it sorted. I currently have £150 in my bank account so I need to do some serious saving in the next 2 months and I need to reduce the costs of handover as much as possible.0 -
Reading through some of your previous posts, you are a liability on the roads, to you and to other road users, and with lease company's property.
Furthermore, if I recall correctly, you had a rusty Mx-5 several years ago that wasn't road legal due to the state of it, yet you were happy to drive round in it and endanger other road users.
So, not only are you a speeder, reckless with others property amd a danger to others, I think you're a bit of a helmet.0 -
It would be much cheaper to be careful.0

I say this without sarcasm or judgement - leasing may not be for you. There's always a risk that you or someone else will cause damage to your car, and it'll have to be paid for, either by you repairing, or paying the penalty to the leasing company when you hand back. You don't get to choose whether to spend the money or not, and you don't seem to have any 'contingency fund' to deal with it.0 -
In my experience main dealers will insist on sight of the V5 which the OP will be unlikely to be able to produce as they are not the registered keepershaun_from_Africa wrote: »Have you tried the manufacturer to see if they can supply a key using the VIN or registration number?0
