Should I buy a property for my Son in Uni?

This idea comes up nearly every year and for very wealth people it's possible of course.
If daughter/son is doing say a medical course over 3/4/5 years with work /placement at the end possible it might work.
However the costs of buying and selling, finding the right property and setting up the mortgage or finances to purchase plus hoops you need to buy a student/HMO licensed home can cause huge headaches.
Then you have the costs to prepare the property and maintain with Wear and Tear much higher in a student household.
Believe me it's hard work0
