I drive a minibus, on Grandfather rights. I understand their is now a requirement for CPC, did that start in 2019?
But the problem is, when I checked my licence online, the CPC training is for lorries and not for buses.
The training was a mixture of lorry/bus, but on the DVLA web site its listed as C1 and not D1. Is it just a requirement to have CPC, but in any catagory?

How many seats does the minibus have?0 -
One of the CPC exemptions is "is used for non-commercial carriage of passengers and/or goods or for personal use" ... does that apply to you, OP?
My licence shows authorisation for both C1, and D1 (with code 101), and also C1E (with code 107) and D1E (with codes 101 and 119)
101 - not for hire or reward (that is, not to make a profit)
107 - not more than 8,250 kilograms
119 - weight limit for vehicle does not apply
@OP - are you in mainland GB or NI? I don't know if the licencing rules differ in NI.0 -

Yes that's correct.0 -
There are separate CPC's for lorries and buses. A lot of the training overlaps.
CPC for bus drivers started back in 08.0 -

The actual topics on the training course was mixed with topics from buses and lorries, but on the CPC licence it just says lorries.
I was told that was because they may want us to change roles, which is nonsense.0 -
Am yet to meet a driver who is for all this CPC lark.
Know of a few who have packed the job in because of all these changes though.
I was considering it for a while but not any more. Total turn off now unfortunately.0 -

Its a legal requirement for most proffessional drivers; extra training is never a negative, its just the cost.0
