I got a new phone at Christmas and my grandson downloaded movie hd apk. Since then I have had loads of unwanted notifications at the rate of about ten an hour.
Girls sending pictures, Morrisons, Tesco etc saying I have won £100 gift cards, Every Spin Wins and such rubbish. It's driving me mad.
My grandson has uninstalled the movie hd apk download but still the notifications come every few minutes. I have not opened any of them.
Please can someone tell me how to stop them?
My phone is a Huawei 2019 Y6.
Thanks

When people who don't know what they are doing try their hand at piracy. I wouldn't let your grandson use your phone again.
Where did you uninstall the app from? Was it definitely fully uninstalled from the Settings area, and not just had the icon deleted from your homescreen?
I'd also check in the App/Notification settings on your phone to make sure there isnt anything in their still causing it.0 -
Are they notifications from the app, or email notifications?0

1. Go to Settings - Apps and if it still appears there uninstall it.
2. Using File Manager app, look for ant instances of the app with similar names and delete0 -
Also remember to disable the installation of dodgy apps by checking SETTINGS > SECURITY > UNKNOWN SOURCES. Remove the permission given by your grandson.0

Sounds like he's had to enable developer mode and 'sideload' this app. It wouldn't have been on the Play Store because it's so spammy. If it was my phone, I'd be doing a factory reset on it.0

Thanks, I will try all these suggestions and hope I get the phone sorted0

As alluded to earlier, it is easy to prevent an app from showing any notifications. (The method to turn them off depends on the version of Android you have). But also as said earlier, it does seem like only the app shortcut was deleted and not the app itself - if the app had been deleted then it shouldn't have been able to set any notifications.0
