Amazon would probably be better than eBay. I'd trust the products from Amazon more than eBay.
Discounted genuine Tepes are one thing. Cheap knock-offs that are either more abrasive than genuine, or that shed bristles that could then irritate & damage your gum will cost you way more in dental fees than they would save you.
You could try asking your dentist if they would sell you packets in bulk? If a supply company has an offer on them, and the practice is about to put in an order anyway, they may sell you several packets cheaper than they sell them individually. Unfortunately though, the bulk buying power of the bigger sellers often mean they can sell them cheaper than we can buy them!
One thing to bear in mind, packs of Tepes bought at the dentist usually contain 8 brushes. Those sold in the supermarkets generally contain 6! Worth looking out for how many are in the packs, and factoring that in. It's not always the same. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
If you don't want Tepe brand then Supermarket ones are £2 for 6.
They're a little more expensive in Chemists but often on 3 for 2 offers so work out less than £2
If anybody finds a good deal on the long handle right angled ones..... those are about £4 for 6 but they'e only ones that work for me on the far back teeth.
I'm not sure Amazon is any different for fakes than Ebay imho.
Not much quality control and a lot of drop shipping from the far East on there now.0 -
Pikstars from amazon 1/2 the price of tepe, and better as well.0

Picksters are actually pretty good.
Whether 'better' or not depends on whether you get on better with that longer, but quite thin handle. It can be a bit more awkward around the very back teeth than the short stubby handle of the Tepe for some peopleHow to find a dentist.

So why don't you buy them from the "bigger sellers" then? :rotfl:0 -

Thanks for that info. I did notice that but thought it was older packs as they had been downsized like everything else.

Because it's easier just to tell patients to - then I don't have the hassle of needing the shelf space to put them on!How to find a dentist.

You can buy right angle brushes for that job.

Work really well in those hard to reach places.
Just also realised mysupermarket has superdrug and boots on it as well as Supermarkets so handy to check for deals on these.0 -
I've never seen purple ones, but usually buy a boots multi-pack of different colours for about a fiver. They seem to be identical to the TePe ones.
Alas, a lot of EBay's 'dodgy Dave'type sellers have migrated to amazon market place, so you'd still need to watch who you buy from on there.
