I wonder if anyone can tell me the following please. I am self employed and a pensioner, I claim tax credits but I am trying to find out if and when Universal Credit is rolled out in my area instead of tax credits will I be able to claim Universal Credit if I am still self employed? Also I have read if I claim Pension Credit before Universal Credit is rolled out I would stay on Pension Credit? Thank you.

If you are of pension age you cannot claim Universal Credit unless you live with a partner below pension age. Unless this applies to you the relevant benefit is Pension Credit.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
