I have a regular saver that is about to mature on the 4/2/20 and its disappeared from my accounts list, i received a letter few days ago stating it was about to mature and that it would be moved to another savings account but its gone.
Is this normal ? will it reappear tomorrow ?
I find it very odd, i have several regular savers with other banks and this has never happened to any of them.

    It's normal for HSBC group reg savers, yes. You'll see the balance in your First Direct Everyday Saver in the coming days.

    It also happens with HSBC (and M&S too from memory). Nothing to worry about.

    Thanks for the info,
    It's a bit of a shock to log on and see that £3600 has disappeared, i wasn't informed that the money would disappear.

    Did you receive/read the maturity letter which account holders receive up to a month prior to maturity. If you did then that would have stated exactly what would happen.

    On the reverse of the letter, top of page...
    It can take up to 5 working days to arrange everything...and while this is happening you won't be able to see your money...via online banking. Don't worry, this is normal...

    Ah..... right,

    no i didn't read it all, my excuse is i'm a bloke and i don't read instructions and stuff until iv'e well and truly messed it up.

    They don't work the way other banks work do they, everything is veeeeery slow, i take it M&S work the same way, i will look forward to that as well.

    At least you're honest about it ;)

    Yea this group of banks seem to do it in a very slow way compared to other more efficient establishments :(

    :naughty::naughty::naughty:

    It can be quite daunting the 1st time it happens, even when you've read the letter;) You get used to it after a while, especially if you also have the HSBC & M&S versions,

    I have the M&S one as well, this is the first time iv'e had these regular savers, i'm used to Santander and Nationwide who do things that i would class as normal, they add the interest and create another savings account at the same time, i'm glad i'm not using these account's as my main account.
