When you think virgin media haggling suceeded but it didnt

Hi everyone, i need advice as this already happened to me few times. I dont have problems haggling but not sure what to do after. Basically i am beeing conned for second time by virgin media. My problem is during haggling trying to reduce your bill i always ask if i can get new contract in email with reduced price and always get told you cant get that as this is reduced price and whatever offer. Normally i would record phone call during haggling but this time i didnt. Anyway i reduced price from £86 to £67 and was told i keep everything same apart from kids channels as kids are now big. I have full lot tv, broadband and phone. I was haggling about 3 weeks ago and received new contract today, as you can guess, fuming. For last 3 weeks i was trying to go to my accoount and kept checkin what was my bundle but couldnt as always was error. Anyway on todays new contract email tv package is maxit tv from full xl tv which i dont think changes much, but cant check for sure and phone package changed to talk weekends from free voicemail and unlimited talk. I hope you understand what i am asking here for my future haggling and what to do with this contract, i was told only kids channels will go (but now i believe virgin changed that anyway and kids chanells are optional add on, nothing to do with me) but my phone was not mentioned during haggling and i lost talk unlimited. For any of this happening i am not surprised just not sure how to proceed from legal way.

Just phone them up and complain. Has happened to me before, but they will fix it, as long as you complain.

Incidently, what you're now paying £67 for, you can get for £49, or £56.50 if you have a second box. It's the same deal new customers are getting, but you may have to give 30 days notice to get it, although don't know whether that's an option for you now given your new contract has started. My argument would be that what they have signed you up to is not what you agreed, therefore the contract is null and void. Best to phone up and ask to speak to a manager.

Here is the link to prove the deal does exist: https://keepup.virginmedia.com/staywithus
  • Thanks, ill ring later and record ot now.
  • Right i called and raised complain, regarding my house phone contract is not what i agreed. Was told takes 7-14 days for them to get back to me, i guess they need to listen recording of my phone call. Also asked whats the difference between maxit tv and full xl house tv, was told maxit tv dont have kids channels, which i was agreed. I recorded this call, so now wait to see what happens.
  • Update, virgin media called today and said i can have my free voice mail and unlimited calls back, but for me there is always catch, maybe not for others. Insted of £67 my bill would be £75 and i would be getting £8 redemption every month. When i asked for contract and confirmation of that, answer was no, you need to check your bill every month. I hate virgin media now, and after this contract never again, as i cant be bothered at the moment. Thats why i dont like huggling, yes i can do it but whenever i do it i finish like this. Why they never can give details of contract on paper, like this £8 redemption??? Is it cos somebody messed up or something i dont get?
I dont think i will be huggling ever again if my bill goes higher, i will take new contract with somebody else.

Don't blame you, my previous experience, I left them 19 months ago as the price they quoted for 50Mb and Talk weekend was no-one near I saw on this site and people are getting more for same price, and I told them this, they kept saying couldn't saying couldn't match it - load of crap, so notice given and never had a callback.

Phoned yesterday on behalf of parents, offered 50Mb and talk weekend for £33 - again another rip-off from what I saw posted on here, again couldn't drop it, cancel notice given.  Feels like subsidising all these cheap they are giving out.
