HELP! Virgin can't/won't do a bank transfer from TSB card - says they don't have permission!

Good afternoon
I just was wondering if anyone had experienced this issue and if there was a solution please?
I've been trying to do a balance transfer from TSB Platinum to Virgin card and Virgin say they cannot do it. I tried doing it online and then called to do it over the phone but the TSB credit card number isn't recognised.
The first person at Virgin I spoke to said it was because the TSB card was coming up as a US Mastercard. I called TSB who said they had not heard of that before and that wasn't the case, and gave me the sort code and account number to provide to Virgin.
I spoke with Virgin again and they tried the sort code and account number TSB provided but they came back saying it was a known issue to do with permissions and that TSB hasn't given Virgin permission to do BTs.
I can't find any info about such a problem but I can't believe I'm the only person whose had this issue. Just hope I'm not lumbered with the TSB balance after the 0% rate. I could try transferring it to my Barclaycard and then to Virgin, but then I'd be paying the transfer fee twice which I'd rather not do.
Has anyone had this or got any suggestions on how to resolve it please?
Thanks!

Complain in writing.
The problem is clearly an error with Virgin Money's system. They need to manually do the transfer, but you might need to kick up a fuss before you get to somebody who knows that.0 -

Alternatively, you could try asking Virgin to do a Balance Transfer to Barclaycard anyway. That would put your Barclaycard in positive balance, which you could then ask Barclaycard to refund to your current account.
It's not guaranteed that they'll agree, though, and may send the money back to Virgin.0 -
Is there also a money transfer offer on the virgin card, if so you can transfer to your current account and then pay the TSB card off from there0

This sounds nonsense to me because a balance transfer is simply a payment, i.e. your new credit card provider pays off the balance on your old card and debits your new card with the same amount. As such, Virgin doesn't need any permission to do BTs, they just need to get on with it and send TSB the money.0 -
Agreed. Advisors are telling you porkies, no permission from TSB is needed to pay off your card.0
