Morning chums ,well done dumpling on your achievement, keep going gal you will get there.
I too have had a grotty night, I was upand down like a fiddlers elbow, I think it was just one of those night ,my shoulder was giving me gyp ,plus my heating went on the blink again I am sitting awaiting the heating chap to arrive at the moment He did say at some point between 8-12, feeling more than a bit cheesed off as its the same problem I hard a couple of weeks ago. Luckily I have cogi home insurance so it won't cost me as I am covered for callouts and repairs.basically the water comes on fine and heats up ,but when I switch the heating on when I get up it works for about 10 minutes then cuts out, I have a feeling the pump maybe on the way out.
Still its dry and bright but chilly at the moment , one bright spot today will be I get to pick my new coat up from the tailors this afternoon I had one made-to measure with a slightly larger right arm to accommodate my arm which has lymphodema. Cost an eye watering amount ,but worth it as I find it very hard to buy off the peg as I have to buy 2-3 sizes bigger just for my arm ,which drowns the rest of e IYSWIM
Told my DDs that I want to be buried in it as it would never fit anyone else
Right just going to pop the kettle on in the hope that the heating chap may smell it and get here quicker
Hope everyone has a good week,no food shopping to buy so far ,fingers crossed I can use some more stuff up from the freezer and cupboards
Cheers chums

Washing is in whirring away, it will be going in the dryer.
It was sunny and clear at 8am, its now very grey and cloudy, looks like rain.
OH has been out and fed the birds etc and also emptied the kitchen waste.
Bank account checked, not much left after todays bills have been paid, hopefully nothing out until Thursday when I go shopping, that will not hit the account until the weekend.
First of the new tablets taken at 7.30 this morning. Have one more antib' to take at lunch time and then go onto my daily dose tomorrow night.
OH is doing some long neglected filing........hope he manages to file it in the right place........
Gers I do not envy you shifting the furniture etc, something to look forward to if they decide to rewire the house. I am dreading it, there will be three of them working on a room each......books to move and book cases, in the sitting room and my sewing room, all my sewing stuff to shift into the middle of the room......the bedroom will be a nightmare, we have a kingsize bed, so not a lot of room to move in there at the best of times. They are also putting a fan in the kitchen and smoke alarms everywhere........will have to have the fan on whilst making toast!!
I will have to fill flasks for drinks and it will have to be sandwiches for lunch and possibly salad for supper.......ugghhhhh.......
Fritatta for supper, just a simple green salad for supper tonight, hopefully he will be back to normal after his dental visit tomorrow.0 -
BELLA - so sorry to read about your beloved dog, it's so sad to have happened to such a young dog.
CSARINA - yes, I'm dreading it all. Even though the room doesn't have to be entirely cleared it'll be upheaval. I couldn't contemplate having DM's place rewired despite the chronic lack of sockets. That can wait until the time comes to sell the flat.
I've been out to the building society for the cheque, and boy...that wind is vicious. Waiting a bus stops in icy wind is so miserable. Anyway, it's done so I just need to make photocopies of everything and then post off the letter. I keep meticulous records of all DM's financial transactions.
A hot cup of coffee is needed now.0 -
Hello all.
I tried to post this morning but my laptop was having a toddler tantrum . I had to give it over to my tech guy who has hopefully sorted it. So if my post is doolally it's not my fault.
I also had to look for my old glasses before starting the painting, looked everywhere and I knew I had brought them down from upstairs. Eventually found them.......... Mr Fix It was wearing them .
All the glossing done for today, but it will need a second coat. So it will probably be tomorrow now, or if I'm lucky, late tonight.
This afternoon I need to sort out the rest of the house. The ironing basket is full as I shoved all the dry washing in there yesterday, there are still some displaced items from the kitchen / diner hanging around too.
I shall send the Sandman out to the sleepless tonight. I believe if you can get a good sleep you can face anything.
Bella I'm so sorry about your beloved dog. Hugs
taff I thought you were my friend ? You know it's not paint splatters in my hair, but grey. Now everyone knows I get my colour from a bottle ! :rotfl:.
Take care all

Afternoon all. Just had my lunch after my little bus jaunt down the valley bottom. The stallholders there must be a hardy bunch as the wind was bitter and not a lot of people browsing. I got one or two bits from Wilko and Home B's and then bus back again.
So sorry BELLABELLA to read your sad post. I know how you must be feeling, it's just heartbreaking having to make the decision to let them go.
Oh no JACKIE not good news. During my last two annual boiler services the gasmen have reminded me that my boiler model is no longer manufactured and spare parts may be hard to get. I dread being told I will need a new boiler when parts are no longer available.
It's still fine here with patches of blue sky but the wind seems to be getting up again. Apparently it's to get worse tonight and tomorrow. I hate winter and spring still seems a way off.

Oh dear! It's always during winter that these problems arise, and you're correct, you can't be cold!
I've been to pick up a large cheque to pay for the dry rot remedial work, another 'have to do' thing. More rainy days than sunny ones in the past 12 months.0 -
Oh JackieO sorry to hear about your looming bill
Are you eligible for help from any organisation connected to your late husband?

Afternoon all,
Pleasañt but cold here today, went to big garden centre for our walk as out of the wind. Met an acquaintance there and asked my usual " all well with you and yours?".....to which she replied that she had just lost her 40 year old daughter to cancer, who left behind 3 children under 6. I was horrified and will be more careful with my questions in future. The poor woman is devastated.
Ruby.....I hope that DDs ex is soon in a place where he can not disturb your lives.
Bella......so sorry to hear about your dog. I have had to put 3 beloved dogs to sleep in years gone by......I look at Mossy every so often and wonder how long more he will be with us......he will be 14 in June.
JackieO......we had to replace a dead boiler years ago that was covered by our house insurance.....is that an avenue worth exploring?
Gers....you and your DM are doing very well with your decluttering.....I really need to follow your example.
There are all sorts of grants available here to improve the efficiency of your home heating etc. My house was built sometime early in the 19th century and now needs a new roof. Rang today to enquire and guess what? No grant available for new roof, so seems that purse strings will be very tightly drawn for the foreseeable future......have no idea of cost.
Roll on spring.....and a small lotto win....do I have to buy a ticket??
