Hi
At 18 months old I have tetralogy of fallots total corrective surgery. It’s a long term condition. I am now 44. Recently I have been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and am awaiting further tests.
It is likely I will need open heart surgery again with a pulmonary valve replacement.
At what stage if any would I be able to claim for PIP. All the heart conditions seem very complicated so unsure if I would be entitled to it at all.
Please can someone advise?

PIP isn't given depending on your diagnosis but on how your poor health affects day-to-day living.0 -
You can certainly claim PIP, but no one here can say whether or not you will be successful. PIP is based on how you are affected in relation to the descriptors, rather than your diagnosis. Have you read the descriptors?0

Also be aware that it stops after a certain length of time in hospital, then you have to let them know that you're back home so they can resume payments.
As for how it affects you, these might be useful websites:
