Hello everyone,

I have received a letter from Regent Parking back in October 2019 stating that "No valid parking payment found" in Queensway and I am liable to £60. The letter has Parking Charge Notice to registered keeper from SolutionsLabs.

I did appeal to them that there was no CLEARLY visible sign for paying to park, and they replied as below:
"Thank you for your appeal against the above Parking Charge Notice ('PCN') which has been carefully considered, however,
on this occasion,the appeal has been rejected for the reason(s) detailed below.
Your vehicle was observed as entering a site which requires Tap2Park session to be purchased against your vehicle
registration. Your vehicle entered at 15:56 and exited at 16:27. Within this time you had failed to purchase parking cover
against your vehicle registration. As no parking cover was purchased, this PCN was subsequently issued. Our Client denies that the signage on-site is insufficient. As a member of a Trade Body our Client is required to undergo
strict site audits prior to being permitted to issue parking charge notices. We confirm that this site has passed such an
audit."

Now they sent few more letters with the fine surged to £160 and last thing was letter from their solicitors saying they have been instructed by their client to prepare for legal proceedings. And if the judgement is registered against me it could seriously affect my ability to obrain credit in the fuuture.

I do believe I shouldn't be paying this, I genuinely didn't notice any sign or was aware that I am required to pay any parking at the time, I always pay my parking wherever I park.

Could you please advise if I can ignore this or it would affect me seriously and what can I do going forward? the last letter received dated 29th of Jan, and giving me 14 days to act.

Don't ignore it but take no action until you receive a proper letter before claim. Then you do take some action. This is all laid out for you in the NEWBIE sticky post # 2.

If their trade body is BPA, they should have issued you with a POLA code. Are they and did they? If they are and did, POPLA is the place to appeal next and this is NEWBIE sticky post # 3.

Did you get photographs of the lack of signage?


You could ask for all the records of their on site independent audits I doubt very much they will have any.

Which is bending the truth, that would not happen unless you lost in court, then failed to pay.

At least £60 of which is unlawful, and it is not a fine, it is an invoice from an ex clamper, read this,

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Hi There,
I received Final Demand for Payment notice From UCS  (UK debt Recovery) on 21st of September 2020. I was shocked and surprised. Ticket is £160.00. 
 On that letter there is no contact number that i can speak with someone and only website that lead to only pay option and penalty charge notice number  . So I had to check where is penalty note from and I went on website ( UCS ultimate customer solution).
 On website, its attached first penalty notice issued from Regent Parking om 29/07/2020 which is I never received any penalty notice from them. 
On that PCN it says I have been parked QCP Queensway Car Park for 6 mins and it shows my entry time to park (19.03-19.09) and my leaving time with picture. But I never Park there and I never leave my car and set my navigator and turn around and left. 
do you think I have right to Appeal? 
Please help if someone knows.
