"Set up to fail" comes to mind here. The person who's supposed to be your manager is refusing to be your manager, and their manager doesn't have your back.

How are your finances? If you're in a good position, consider resigning before you're sacked. It'll be better for your CV and future employment prospects in the long run. However it will mean you'll be ineligible for benefits for typically 3 months. So if you don't have spare funds you'll have to stay until you're pushed. Dismissal for poor performance should not affect benefit eligibility (but beware Universal Credit may "sanction" anyway).

I would be surprise if she does get any sanction for being dismissed for "poor performance".
It is not one of the listed reasons for denying jobseekers allowance.
  • OP are you a member of a trade union?
  • Yes I know. I just wanted to vent really and hope that someone who has been in the same situation before reads this.

I really didn't want to be looking for another job after 3 months, as it doesn't look very good. Also looking for advice on what to say when asked why do you want to leave.

If someone has it in for you, they will get rid. Though do let them take their time, don't rush into unemployment as this is somewhere I went wrong.

Please look at the old threads history on here, roughly between 2007-2010 - they really are a great source of wealth and helpfulness.

I got the view you could say you have a temporary contract and simply contract ending right down to omitting the job depending if you can talk about it without getting upset and or focusing on previous job efforts instead - in my case of 6 weeks job ending and a really unsteady past with to many short terms jobs to bear another - the advice from the job centre was leave it off the CV and to forget about it as they said time of 6 weeks was nothing.

I got a better job in the end even with a pay drop (my EU importing experience is not going to help my new employer anyway) - long term to (my new word for permanent) handed in reference details at 2nd interview before offer made. I even got to chose out of two offers I would like to accept as the only perk of being unemployed.

No I'm not a member of a union, they don't even have their own HR department and someone is currently coming in from an outside company to sort out some workers contracts.

Yes, I have joined an agency and I told them I'm on a temporary contract which could end soon, as I didn't want to tell them I was still on probation.
I'd think it would be too long of a job to leave off my CV? Three months is a long time.

Your company doesn't need to recognise unions for you to be in one. If you're staying in the same field you can join the most appropriate one, wherever you work.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I know but don't know the right one to join.

I used to be a member of MSF (Manufacturing Science & Finance) years ago. But haven't been in one since.

Didn't think I would have any rights with this company as I haven't been with them long enough.

Just a quick update - am continuing to look for a new job, have applied for a few, but nothing yet.
Said person in the office has actually been spoken to on Wednesday by the MD, as it seems someone else within the company has made a complaint.
    Speaks volumes doesn't it?

Well, one of the regular complaints was that some (particularly new) posters would delete their posts if they didn't like the replies! That was very annoying for those that put the effort in trying to help and it often made the thread meaningless for anybody else reading it.

Actually, having just experimented, you can still edit a post and presumably delete all the content so I am not sure we are much further forward!
