Old Style Daily Sunday 02 Feb

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning folks.
We are all incredibly busy or enjoying a lazy start today. No guesses which is me!
No plans for today so I'll just go with the flow.
Happy Sunday to everyone.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
I didn't wake up until 8.45am:D:DI am so happy and feel like I have had a proper night's sleep. Gers, I am definitely lazy not busy :rotfl:.
Steve is making me some scrambled eggs and toast and he will be cooking a roast pork dinner later. I love Sundays. All I have to do is get washed and dressed and do my exercises. I have downloaded a couple of Terry Pratchett books onto my Kindle and I am going to curl up on the settee and read them later.
Lee is going to make a cheesecake later, my waist line will not be happy but I will try and just have a sliver as it is my weigh day tomorrow. Haven't heard from Lilly for a few days now, she could be anywhere and Phoebe has left early to open up at work. Jemima brought the grand children round to see us yesterday which was lovely. They are like little whirlwinds, I wish I had some of their energy.
Ok, hope you all have a great day today whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Managed a bit longer in bed this morning but been a busy bee ever since! Once I had sorted out Sparkle's overnight trail of destruction I stripped my bedding and got that in to wash then got a small gammon joint on to cook. Breakfast (avocado and poached egg) then dw loaded and doing its thing.. Now taking time out with coffee!
I am all plans next to give the leather sofas a good wipe over. They have been neglected lately.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. REDRUBY I hope your day got better yesterday. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all
Late up for me today we had another call from the police last night which spooked us all up a bit, so none of us slept well we are so on edge and scared he is going to do something.
Yesterday he broke his bail conditions and contacted dd, he has also hacked into her social media and posted some private photos of dd all over (not nude) but personal ones, luckily she woke for a wee in the early hours and saw lots of notifications on her phone, she managed to take the photos down and recall most of the ones he had sent in private messages to most of her friends list. He has also threatened to take the pup again. I cant say much more about the police as they have asked us not to, but the investigation is very mush ongoing !!
Onto today dd is going to have a dash-cam fitted onto her car and we will take the pups out later.
Roast lamb and all the trimmings for dinner and I will do enough for tomorrow too.
Beds have been stripped and bedding is on a hot wash.
Right have good days all xx0 -
Redruby, how awful for your DD and the whole family, all I can do is send best wishes and hope they lock him up and throw away the key.
We went over to see Chris and Crystal yesterday afternoon. I mended two of Chris' sweaters and the pocket of a jacket. I have also returned with a set of curtains to shorten for them.
Today I want to bottom the kitchen which is superficially clean and not at all tidy and is irritating me. Steve is going to play golf and I think dinner will be a portion of scouse and a portion of chicken and broccoli bake that are in the freezer.0 -
Morning campers !
It's a bright but not quite sunny day here. I'm longing for some decent outside drying weather.
The bed has been stripped and the bedding waiting it's turn in the WM, which already has a load in there. I'm also going to wash my dressing gown as I've dropped tea and jam down it ( Don't know how I missed my mouth :rotfl: ) and a cushion cover that Mr Fix It thought would look better splattered with coffee .
Dad's due around noon for lunch so that will be enough work for me today. Well apart from cooking the lunch, but even that's cheating as I found a chicken pie in the freezer, so we'll have that with veg and gravy.
Right I'm off to prep the veg. Hope you all can have a goodish Sunday.
Take care all. Hugs to everyone who is in need, especially RedRuby and family.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Dull and wet here this morning. Very little wind. Usual Sunday brekkie in bed, showered and dressed. I decided to iron the duvet cover that has been waiting since Wednesday, so all ironed and in the cupboard.
RR so sorry to hear your DD has had more trouble from her Ex. Hope he is now in custody and you all get some peace.
No plans, the anti b's for the infection are having their usual effect on me, thankfully I finish them tomorrow. Start my new osteo medication then, will have to see hoe that pans out.
Chicken for supper, will have to make sure its well cooked, anyone ever done pulled chicken? DB needs it soft to eat it.0 -
Red Ruby. I'm so sorry you're having all this trouble. He is obviously a very nasty piece of work. Let's hope the police can sort it out.
I slept really badly last night, even for me , so there won't be much going on here. Might tie up some loose ends or might read the John Grisham book DS passed on to me yesterday. I think I know which is most likely!
Happy peaceful Sunday all, especially RR.0 -
Hi everyone,
The house is fairly quiet, DSons doing their own stuff and Dh is looking over a house that friends may be buying. He told me he'd only be an hour well over 2 hours ago as my DB was coming over with a card for DS and he wanted to be here....Anyway DB has been and gone so not sure what we'll be doing this afternoon, may pop over to see our friends.
I have a pork loin joint for tea, and apple pie.We seem to have had a fair bit of rain during the night as the river below sounded pretty noisy, and the park was very squelchy when we took the hound out early.
RR sounds like a torrid time - stay safe xx
I shall carry on with my loom knitting in the meantime - quite impressed as my scarf is nearly finished just a bit more wool.
Enjoy your day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
The 'flow' took me out to the tip (again) with cardboard boxes. I had hoped to go for a walk around swan lake, however the heavens opened wide and the rain was bouncing off the ground so I diverted to visit my friend Alan. A nice chat and a cup of coffee was just what the doctor ordered.
An invitation to supper on Tuesday arrived by email, that was a lovely surprise. :j
So sorry to read about the ongoing problems with the idiot REDRUBY - I really hope that the police are able to deal with him soon.
HAPPYCAS - enjoy your reading session.
Now I'm going to have a lazy afternoon apart from feeding DM.0
