Ebay ECP code

Hi All,

I've had a buyer on saying that they haven't received an item that I sent to an Ebay Click and Collect supermarket.

I've checked the tracking and it shows as the item was delivered 3 days ago, and I had put the ECP code clearly on the label.

What do I do next?, do I need to tell the buyer the ECP code? I thought that when the supermarket put the code into their collection point it automatically gave the buyer a code to pick it up with.

Thanks in advance.

I've had this happen to me before - I sold an item, sent it C&C and the buyer messaged me to say they hadn't been sent a code to collect it - when it's delivered to the shop it's to be collected from, as far as I'm led to believe, the buyer is then sent notification their item's available to collect and a code they have to show to be able to collect it...without this code, they aren't able to get their parcel. In the end, the shop sent the buyer the code but I guess it was a software issue at their end (It was a Sainsbury's FWIW)...

    Thanks for the reply.

The buyer has now been to the shop and looked at all the parcels waiting to be collected and my parcel was not there.

I've checked the tracking and it clearly shows it was signed for and the name says the name of the supermarket.

I guess something has happened to the parcel after it was in the supermarkets care and has gone missing. Obviously I can prove it was delivered so what do I do now?, the case the buyer opened says if we can't come to an agreement by 9th Feb that Ebay will step in so do I just leave it until then?

Phone ebay, click and collect has different rules and you need to check your liability and that is best done on the phone and not leaving it to chance.

    Hi Soolin,

Thanks very much for the reply. I was hoping that you'd see the thread and answer it.

I only sent it second class signed for because I've read your threads before with your great advice.

I phoned Ebay, they have now let me keep the money and have refunded the buyer as I had the proof of delivery.

    Thanks again Soolin.
