Amex Gold Travel Insurance vs Others

Hi all,
So I've recently booked a trip to Phuket with my partner with my American Express Gold Rewards Card. I read that this comes with travel insurance but it's it's not fully clear if my partner is also covered. I should note the tickets are booked via Amex's travel agency and both our names are on the booking.
My main question: even if we are both covered, is it still worth taking out a couple's insurance (I.e. RAC Silver Essential)?

I can't embed links so here's a malformed link for some info of the Amex Insurance:

  • Hi Overdash, the Amex Gold Card only provides you with travel inconvenience insurance, so if you are delayed or your bags go missing. It does not include any cancellation or medical cover so you will need to take additional insurance out :)
