Is there any form of written agreement between you all? As you have discovered, the company will only deal with the lead passenger so how do you plan to withdraw permission when they won't deal with you?
If you choose not to go you won't be able to reclaim any of the money from insurance or from the tour operator.0 -
It is correct that OF deal with the lead passenger.
I see no data breach and IMO that it is not appropriate to look to blame the tour operator for this situation.
Here are the Ocean Florida booking conditions which lay down what your cancellation option is but at 8 weeks you stand to lose 90% and the remaining passengers in the party may also have their holiday accommodations reposted given the lower occupancy.

It seems that it is possibly just you or you and ‘the girl’ who have fallen out with the rest of the party, rather than all eight at each other’s throats. If you can not recover this situation and you don’t wish to lose money you could always take the flights and park tickets but look to stay somewhere else in Orlando and just do your own thing on holiday. You may see them on the flights but don’t have to sit with them if you don’t want. It might suit them as well.0 -
Do many people make written agreements with people when they book a holiday?0

If you want help, just answer the question.
It doesn’t matter how many people do - what matters is if YOU have.

You haven't been defrauded of the 1K plus because you've been given it back although I can understand why you're angry.
Is there anyone else who would want to go in your place and what would it cost to change the names? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Oh look, another selfish poster that asks for help, gets it then deletes all of their post because they didn’t like the replies - not to mention that it could be helpful in future to someone in the same boat.

I agree. It's a shame that mse don't monitor this sort of thing. They almost encourage it by having those mse generated threads that never get a response from the OP. That's assuming an OP actually exists as I have my suspicions that they make them up.0
