I agree with the other posters and think that you are writing some very ill-informed posts on this subject. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that the OP’s son has been discriminated against or let go for a protected characteristic.I think my mistake was engaging with KatrinaWaves.
I will therefore keep my reply to you very simple.
Depression can, in some circumstances (see earlier post with Mind.org link) qualify as a disability. This can be explored by the poster, even if it turns out that the son doesn't qualify. If they do qualify, there may be a few question marks and points to challenge knocking around.
Poster, speak to ACAS for further advice about this.
As written the OP describes a young man who is simply unable to follow simple rules at work and so who’s been let go for indiscipline and repeated bad behaviour. To try to cry about disability rights in a case like this is ridiculous, and probably damaging, as it will stop him waking up to the fact that it is completely his fault that he’s gone.0 -

The poster should seek out further information on the matter. Good sources include ACAS, CAB, son's GP, Mind.ORG and other mental health charities.

Keeping banging that same drum doesnt change the fact the O/P's son wasnt sacked because they were depressed, they were sacked for repeatedly breaking simple rules and being disruptive.
Its a very very tenuous link to suggest they were that depressed they couldnt follow even this simple rule of not checking their phone - and even more difficult to prove it. And even IF you prove it, to what end? Appealing to get their job back?
By suggesting the O/P has some hope here of progressing this and getting "justice" just allows them to further not deal with the fact their son needs to adjust his work ethic, find another job and move on.0 -

As well as offering false hope where absolutely none exists, if the OP actually contacts any of these institutions, they're taking away resources from those who genuinely need them. This is monumentally bad advice on more than one front.0 -

The OP's son may well be depressed and that can be a serious and debilitating illness. Yes, I would agree with you that seeking help with that would be a good idea.
However, "motorguy" is correct that it is a very tenuous link indeed to say that is why they were sacked from this job!
My opinions of ACAS's initial call centre are not high at the best of times but, based on what we have been told in this thread, there is nothing they could usefully offer even if they were the best service in the country!0
