Car not Starting
Hi All,
I went to unlock my car this morning with the fob but nothing happened. I manually opened the door with a key but when I tried to turn on the ignition there was nothing. This evening I attached the battery to jump leads, the key fob began to work again but when I went to start the engine it turned slowly but didn't start.
Is this something serious?

Most likely a dead battery. If it does not have enough power to run the locks it is unlikely to recover with charging.0

Connect jump leads to another car then run engine on donor car for abt 20/30 mins at about 1500/2000 rpm and then see if yr car will start, sounds like you have left something on to drain yr batteryANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0

Just a thought but if you have breakdown cover they'll sort the battery.0

Dead battery.
If it is a modern vehicle don't go messing with jump leads unless you know what you are doing.
Modern electronics can be fried very quickly if you get it wrong and a simple battery check and change can become very expensive.

When did you last use the car? Did you leave lights on...?I went to unlock my car this morning with the fob but nothing happened. The battery must be very flat for the remote locking not to do anything. Jump leads can only provide a certain amount of current - you really need to recharge the battery properly, but leaving the jump leads connected for a while may get enough into your car's battery to get it started - then the alternator will do the charging.
However, batteries really don't like being flattened.
So, assuming no other issues, you may be in for a new battery - sooner or later. You may have something that's pulling power when the ignition's off - it's probably semi-obvious.0
