Halifax app of all the banks I've used is by far the best, and it is always evolving. (i imagine Lloyds/BOS is the same)

Due to disability I'm unable to work so do have to manage my money by the penny. Two things that I really relied on with the last banking app I used are 'available balance' and 'upcoming payments'.

Monzo has the best budgeting features built into the app, by a long way in my experience.

As others have said you can also look at external tools like You Need a Budget. But I find Monzo now has everything you need built in.

That's fine if you are happy to be locked into Monzo for as long as you want to budget, which could be the rest of your life. You'll also lose access to your budgeting information should Monzo block your account, which they appear to be doing more regularly than other banks.

Why? I could switch tomorrow if I wanted.

OK, then tell me how you switch your budgeting data, and to where.

HSBC has a “balance after bills” function which shows you payments that are due to come out in next 30 days (or whatever period you select)

I don't get what data you are talking about? If I want to start using YNAB again I just set up an account there and start using it. It's very simple to do, anyone can do it. There is no reason that you need to stick to the same budgeting app 'for life'.
