For a 5k debt you will not be looking at an insolvency solution, debt management at the very worst will be the chosen option.

He is and has been in £40,000 + of debt plus £5,000 in the red and due to Natwest increasing the o/d charges he is now in deeper do-do.

He has been treading water for a decade - now he needs to tackle it.

If it were me I would try and stooze some cash over the next few months and put it in a safe and forget about it.....stop paying all debts and save that money as well. Then after 3 or 4 months push the button on an IVA.

Very unlikely that anyone will allow a person so heavily in debt to stooze :(

Depends on how much credit is left on the credit cards. Needs to open up another bank account though.
