Surface-Pro 2017 Screen Replacement suggestions please

Hello, I have a surface pro (2017 version) with a cracked screen that i need to get replaced - ideally by middle of next week (so 5 days including weekend...)

from my research, microsoft effectively replace the whole tablet when you get a repair and it's pretty expensive (in region of £300, possibly more when out of warranty period - which i presume mine is). I'm assuming that it's not really a feasible DIY repair.

There are some online service (who offer call out) - e.g. UK-repairs.com who are quoting £230, but I'm not sure of about quality...

Can anyone offer a recommendation on best way forward?
- online services or call-out repair services?
- Any drop-in repairs not too far from Winchester Hampshire?

5 days including the weekend????. How long do you think it takes to ship the item both ways and wait for parts to arrive? Plus you do not want fast shipping, as you are already complaining about cost. The screen itself is for v4 is £100 and £130 for v5. Add postage and vat to the final sale.

Call out services generally cost more. It is generally cheaper to bring stuff to someone who has the equipment all set up, rather than someone spending 45 mins in traffic each way, then setting up a repair centre in your home, often with inadequate lighting, on table that is too small that may get scratched and burnt, may get glass on the floor, power that can be hard to get to, kids running round and sometimes dogs.

One vid shows the edited steps and it was 12 mins long, so would not surprise me if this took 2 hours to do by the time you order parts etc.

I decided to buy a refurbed unit (with double the ssd and ram). I’ll see if I can sell the old broken one for repairs on eBay.
