  • Clearly, you signed and agreed to have a company represent you in PPI complaints. I can't therefore see how you can hope to avoid paying this fee even though the first (and now the second) company have ceased to trade. If you refuse to pay, the likelihood is that you'll end up in court.
  • Thank you , even if we have not had any correspondance with this company and actually unaware of any ongoing claim,i accept i have given my consent and authorisation but that was to previous company , this this company i haven’t ???

Companies merge and rebrand all the time. Contracts remain valid.

Once you sign an agreement, the claims company can sell or assign their rights to any 3rd party company they so choose, you are out of the equation the second you sign on the dotted line.

Its a sad fact that people choose to use a claims management company to just write a letter for them, when any PPI complaint could have been submitted on the creditors own website via an online form, it was that simple, yet you are now potentially facing a bill of many hundreds of pounds, or more, should have come to this site much sooner, we could of saved you money, time, and trouble.

People and companies can assign their rights under a contract to a third party, so the right to collect from you has just been passed on, and you’ll still owe it.
  • Thank you all this has been very useful advice
