Yorkshire Energy - Problems
Options
I moved to YE in August 2018. I have today received an email referencing a query with my old supplier on the opening reading.
Their portal has been down since early this morning.
There are many bad ratings on Trustpilot over the last week.
It appears they have updated their systems which is giving problems. This is probably why I have received the email.
They are also blaming a sudden increase in new customers adding to the drop in service.

They massively dropped their prices recently to become one of the cheapest on the market... They should have been able to foresee an increase in customers from this and prepare?
Is it just slow responses currently due to the system/customers for now? - Might just be a minor blip for a month or so if there aren't any other issues.1 -
I am also having problems with Yorkshire energy. Having been asked for meter reading I could not enter them into there website. A few days later I manage to leave a voice message leaving my meter readings but today recived an email saying my account was active but meter readings are estimated. Having spent 42 mins on hold and then getting and answer machine im very unhappy with the service I have recived even before they have started to supply.

I've just submitted my monthly reading online without any issues after getting my usual email reminder to do so. Less than an hour later I've also got my bill. My contact with them has all been automated without a hitch, from switching to them to the monthly reading reminders & bills. Thankfully never had to contact them with any issues, and unfortunately, that's when the customer service can come into question.
However, compare that to British Gas, readings submitted a week ago and bill still not available, it appears to be a know technical glitch, so we'll see how much longer it takes them to fix it. At least I've only had to spend 15mins on their online chat to find this out though!0 -
