I have around $5000 sitting in a Transferwise account that I would like to withdraw in this country in USD. Anyone know the easiest and cheapest way to withdraw USD in this country?

The wording is a bit iffy, so you might have to call and ask specifically but it appears that the HSBC currency account allows you to withdraw cash from it:

If that is the case, open one, transfer the USD from Transferwise to it and go to a branch to withdraw.0 -
Thank you. It seems like the HSBC account does not let you withdraw physical USD either. I have been on the phone all day with Barclays and they offer a USD account and which allows USD withdrawals in branch. The only issue is that you have to open a Sterling current account beforehand.0
