Tumble Dryer intermittently blowing cold

Hi all,

I have a Beko DCU 8230 8kg condenser sensor tumble dryer (S/N: 14-201670-01).

It has developed a fault where sometimes it dries clothes really well as it should and then other times it just blows cold for the whole cycle. I have researched and followed guidelines found on the web which did work temporarily but are no longer working.

I first attempted to see if I was able to reset it by pushing the little red button at the back and listening for the 'click' but the button was not pressable. The web states that a pressable button would indicate the need for a new heating element but this doesn't appear to be the case for me.

I then attempted to reset it by using the buttons on the front: setting it to delicates then holding the start button for around 3 seconds until all the lights flash - this option worked for the first few times and my dryer went back to normal but this option is no longer working (and the back reset button is still not pressable).

I have looked after my dryer, I only use it at weekends; I empty the water after every second load, I remove the fluff from the grate inside the door after every use and I clean the large filter at the bottom once a month (as per instructions)

I am tempted to buy a new one but I'm a sucker for trying to fix things.

I am reluctant to buy a new heating element and thermostat (£40-£50) as I'm not convinced that's the problem? Surely I wouldn't get any heat at all if the heating element or thermostat was broken?

Any guidance on what the issue might be is great appreciated.

Thanks
