Electronic Warranty/ Amazon

I bought a bluetooth transmitter for the car last July. It's just physically broken, so cannot be used.
I bought it via Amazon, but a third party seller. Contacted them today and they said sorry, only 30 days refund or replace.
I thought electronic items had at least a one year warranty under EU law?
Please can someone advise, as i don't really think it's acceptable, that something can work for 6 months, then you have to just replace it or am i being optimistic.
Do i have any recourse or just have to accept that I've had 6 months use, so buy another.
TIA

Yes you do.
No amazon will not help you.
It's going to cost more than buying a decent one.
My recomendation.
I have been using this for ages https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00O8GASEA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I previously had this and it was a pile of crap https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KON1JIA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(get the good one!)
Feel free to take them to court though, however despite using amazon UK I suspect they are not UK based and will care little. Only use reputable suppliers on amazon. Amazon will only help in the first 30 days.0 -
Broken as in damaged ??Then neither the seller nor Amazon are responsible .

Not in the UK law book .0 -
How much was it?
After 6 months onus is on you to show it's an inherent fault.0 -
Thnx so much, i will get your recommendation0
