I can't get hold of British Gas
Options
I have been trying to call British Gas, and I have called them on multiple occasions and at different times, and I can never speak to someone. I always get the message that says they are now closed.
I am calling this number: 0333 202 9802
I called them at 5.30 today, and I have also called them during the day on Saturday and Sunday, and they always seem to be closed. I have checked their number online, and I have tried different numbers with no luck.
I am calling on behalf of my tenant who is on a Pre-Payment Metre and she would like to move to a monthly direct debit system. She has been told her landlord has to call to authorise it, but I can never get hold of them.
I will try tomorrow morning after 9 am. This is my last attempt before switching companies.
Am I doing something wrong?

Well they are wrong you do not need to be contcted.
Also which supplier they choose is nothing to do with you.
(beyond vague terms in your contract which would probably be unenforceable).
Anyway, I ssume the tenant has caused the confusion (unless the account is in your name which is also not a good idea), they have no reason to even mention you to the supplier. But hey ho, supply the tenant a letter and let them deal with it.
(or call during a weekday when they actually emply people (10am sounds perfect), or use online chat (might not be possible without an account that you should not have)).0 -
It is not in my name. And the tenant told me British Gas told them they need the landlords authorisation.0
