PC WORLD - Microsoft Office 365

Just spent hours buying a new laptop at PC WORLD spent over £600 on a new laptop with MS Office 365( Home & Student), only to get it downloaded and find it doesn't have MS Outlook !!. Went back to PC World and explained that I was not told MS Office 365 ( Home an Student) did not have Outlook but they were very rude, not interested and would not help me at all. Is there anything I can do ? I am not a tech savvie person, I think I was mis-sold the MS Office package.
Thanks

Can you return it as not fit for purpose? (Doubt it)

Just a lesson to others to not buy from there.

    :o
  • The Home & Student version does not have Outlook as part of it.

Can you prove you were mis-sold in some way?
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

So you are saying you got lucky and don't have the horrible thing and can use something else? Just sell your soul to google and use gmail. (yes it can download other emails).

Save your soul and avoid Google, lots of other free offerings ;)

There's no such office version. There is Office 365 Home which is an annual subscription and includes Outlook, and Office Home & Student 2019 which is a one-time payment and does not include Outlook.

Unless you were explicitly told Microsoft Outlook was included in what you were buying, I think you don't have any case.

    Thanks

Software you've activated is not refundable.
Next time ask rather than presume. You could have read the back of the box too, it would have said on there what it came with.

Anyway it frees you up now for something else, Thunderbird or whatever.

It's funny how they find the forum, just after they purchase.

I guess they didn't need our advice beforehand.

While PC World might not have the greatest reputation with regards to customer and after-care support, it is at the end of the day a retail outlet, one which has been going for nearly 30 years and is probably the first place people go until they know better.

Anyway hope the OP is happy with their laptop as they're going to be stuck with it and the Office has been activated and will be non-refundable.

Yeah, but odd that they found this particular forum just today. Probably posting under a temporary username, never to be seen again...under that particular username.
