Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a good conveyancing solicitor in SE London for my home purchase and need recommendations. Please post your experiences and if possible specific names of the solicitor if you got a particularly good service.
Thanks in advance.

There must be 100's of solicitors in SE London so choosing one on the basis of a recommendation from one random stranger would be odd.
I normally email 5 or 6 local solicitors for a fee quote.
The time and manner in which they respond and the completeness of their answer usually cut that down to 2 or 3.
Then you can either pop in and meet the solicitor who will be working or your case, choose based on fee or whatever.0 -
Out of curiosity, why does it have to be local? Mine was half way across the country, the only downside £20-30 in postage fees.0

I second Sal's post. I live in London and the last time I bought a house (10 yrs ago admittedly) I used a firm called Stephensons from Leigh, a town up north.
One really good thing about them was that, when my buyer pulled out on the day of exchange, I only lost the £8 land reg fee. Stephensons had a no sale no fee guarantee at the time.
The reluctant buyer did me a favour as I kept the house and have let it out over the last decade.
When I eventually did buy another house I went for Stephensons and was most impressed with the service. My contact was a conveyancer rather than a solicitor, a woman named Anna Sparrow, She was absolutely brilliant. Everything was done by email and I was never in any doubt about the progress of the purchase.
If you do decide that location of the conveyancer is not important, you could do worse than giving Stephensons a call .

I have used Amphlett Lissimore in Crystal Palace. I could not fault them and will use them again.0
