Section 13 rent increase - goes against contract

We signed a 6 month rental contract on 30 May 2019 that promised no rent rises for 363 days. The contract states that at the end of the 6 months, the contract converts to a shorthold assured tenancy agreement and is on a rolling basis and it includes info of notice periods etc...
We have now received (or been told we will receive via post) a section 13 with a rent increase, and they belive they have given the required month's notice.
However, if we have signed a contract agreeing no rent rises for 363 days, surely a section 13 (which i know has rules for SATs) can't over ride this?
Advice appreciated

No you can carry on paying what you agreed. But as you are now on a monthly rolling contarct they can also choose to serve you eviction notice.0

Perfect - yeah we are aware of that risk. They can increase the rent from May, but we are actually in the process of completing on a house so fingers crossed there will be no crossover!

And the increase is only £25pm, so we are actually tempted to not question it just to avoid issues.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Why not send a polite email reminding them of the clause in the tenancy agreement? You can always agree to pay the £25 later to avoid agro if the LL/agent make an issue of it, but it may well be enough for the rent increase to be withdrawn.0

As our house should complete in March, we are hoping to get mortgage approval by the end of Feb, and hand in our notice by the end of Feb (notice is one full rental month, so we are fine).G_M said:Why not send a polite email reminding them of the clause in the tenancy agreement? At this time, I will inform them that we wont be paying £700 due to the clause. Just in case they throw their toys out of the praam and try to evict usHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Basically, we are just holding off on informing them that we won’t pay the rent increase until we need to tell them. No point muddying the waters for another couple of weeks whilst mortgage is ongoing - no benefit for us.theartfullodger said:Ignore this stupid landlord's s13Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
