I'm expecting a parcel tomorrow and I've already had an email yesterday to say the parcel was on its way to RM (awaiting collection from the seller), and another early hours this morning showing that it's in the RM network and will be due for delivery to me between 9:30 and 1:30 tomorrow, I can track the last mail centre it was in and will know when it gets to my local mail centre and then to my local sorting office.
When the tracked service is used it really is a good tracking service, it's when things are just sent signed for or delivery scan only that it is not tracked at every stage and only shows when delivery is attempted, still better than no record at all like with normal first and second class but not as good as fully tracked.0 -

It is for the sender's benefit who otherwise wouldn't know if the item had been delivered (or attempted).
It is not intended to enable the recipient to find out when it is likely to be delivered.0 -

First and Second standard are now scanned with a QR code too - meaning you'll see delivery attempts etc (but that's about it)0
