Good Afternoon chums ,just about to have a big salad lunch as I seem to have a mountain of the stuff.:)
its was mild first thing this morning but the temperature seems to be dropping a bit now. I made my son-in-law a nice cocoanut and cherry cake this morning and also made a nice boiled fruit cake for the cake tin as I seemed to be running low on cake to have with a cuppa.

Well end of the month tomorrow and I have managed to salvage a tenner from my food monthly budget just by eating up some of my freezer stuff Mostly freezer roulette as I kept finding stuff at the back of the freezer i had forgotten about :) and not labelled, still it makes for ...interesting meals .

This afternoon I intend to put my feet up and watch a film whilst doing a little knitting I can only knit for about an hour then I have to rest as my shoulder begins to ache a bit .I am still awaiting news from the local clinic about physio, but the referral letter has gone in and I rang them and its been 'activated' what ever that means

I shall get the last few odds and ends of shopping tomorrow after History club as I am only about five minutes from the shops then, so I can manage with what I have in stock today.Only be the third time I will have been near the shops this month.Using up left-over Christmas stuff has been really good and definitely money saving.

Hope everyone is already for Brexit hoo-har on the media tomorrow ,no doubt the tv will be full of it. Fingers crossed life can then return to relative normality.

Very sad about Nicholas Parsons ,I loved his calm chats on Just a minute and he was so good at so many things ,but at 96 he has had a decent innings.

Right time for lunch and my rabbity food as my late OH called it :)

Take care everyone and keep warm and dry if possible

    Afternoon all.

A ton of paper binned at the tip - hygienist visit done - small shop done - and another ton of paper shredded / in recycling bag.

I found a box file stuffed full of old receipts so DM and I spent over an hour together going through them all. The earliest is from 1959 (see other thread) for a chair and stool still in daily use here along with receipts for electrical goods (1976), carpets (ongoing), jewellery (1980s) and one for a Persian Lamb fur coat her mother bought in Frankfurt in 1964.

It's been fascinating going through them all. 90% of them are now shredded with the remainder being kept as the items are still in use. Her habit of keeping receipts is so different from mine, I tend to scan important receipts and store on my laptop.

The weather is becoming quite wild now, the wind is howling round the corner of the flat. I'm glad I was out this morning.

Yesterday I ordered a physio step so I can do my new exercises, it's just arrived so I'm off to do some stepping!

    Evening all,

Out for lunch today with my oldest friend.......it was her birthday lunch, birthday was in November but with one thing and another we couldn't find a day that suited us both until today. Went to an Asian restaurant that we all like, OH had a glass of P.i:not Grigio......friend and I were on water as we were both driving. Lunch was lovely so didn't miss the wine!

Have an appointment tomorrow to see about my cataracts, DD 2 is off work so she will take as I will not be able to drive for a few hours after test.

Gers.....talk of sorting and shredding paperwork makes me wince although don't think that I have anything going back to 1959! I will get rid soon

JackieO .......I know what you mean about Brexit being all over tv tomorrow.....we are presently being bombarded with election stuff (we have a general election on 8th February) so Brexit will be a change for a while!!

    Have a good weekend everybody.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

It's me again :). I thought I would come back and see what you have all been up to today. My day stayed good even though I had a hairdressers appointment that I had forgotten about. Fortunately my hairdresser has been coming to me for a few years now so she wasn't shocked to find me still in my pj's :o:rotfl:. She chopped off about 6" and gave me a very fancy schmancy inverted bob. I feel young again as long as I don't see my grey hair. Steve said it looked nice but he would have to get used to it :D...he's just jealous because he doesn't have any hair :D.

I made another card this afternoon and then did a little bit of knitting. I kept one project when I gave away all my knitting yarn and patterns and so I am about halfway through a scarf. It will probably be finished just about Spring time, oh well, never mind.

Exciting news for me, my sister is going to sell up in Wales and come and live in my town in North Devon. It will be so lovely to see her and her children more regularly. That will be all 4 of my sisters and brother living here then so she will have much more support and practical help.

My best friend is coming to see me tomorrow so hopefully I will be feeling a bit better as I have been suffering a bit with a bad tum. I am blaming Steve's cooking as we had a cooked breakfast with baked beans and I think they have upset my system a bit...parp...:rotfl::rotfl:. TMI I know!

I didn't get my legs measured in the end as one of the nurses went off sick so it has been postponed till next week now. Other than that, my heel has healed, my legs don't leak but my knees are knackered. Still, I keep doing my exercises in the hope they will improve.

Right, I'm off again. Hope you have a nice evening, take care xx
