Is it not recommended to use the wifi over my sky connection without occurring a charge.
Should i only use it over my data plan PAYG and incur charges.

I do it over WiFi at home.
Where is the difference to using Internet Banking over WiFi?Life in the slow lane0 -
Not sure I understand the question.
Are you suggesting that Sky wifi charges you if you connect your phone to it? That seems unlikely.
And where does mobile banking fit in - mobile banking is no different to any other data transfer, so if you use your wifi for browsing the web you can use it for banking.0 -
Clearly OP means is it safe to do internet banking over their Sky home wifi free of charge or is it only safe to do it on mobile network using chargeable data.
Perfectly safe on your private home wifi, not recommended on public wifi and maybe shared home wifi in HMOs.0 -
Your home connection with WiFi would be the safest bet (compared to mobile data).
For me... home Wifi > mobile data > public wi-fi (in order of safest vs least safe).0 -
If you’re using a banking app then it’s encrypted end to end.0

Yes, but nothing is ever "fully secure and safe".
True but that's the trade off for the convenience of mobile/internet banking and it's probably as safe as reasonably practicable. I'm perfectly happy to use my home wifi for both mobile and internet banking. If I needed to use mobile banking whilst out for some reason (unlikely but I suppose some kind of emergency might make that necessary) I have a VPN on my phone and would use that over public wifi.0 -
