Non of us have suggested that he's lazy or stupid, however that was the assumptiom that could be inferred from the words used by the OP
"my dad being an OAP" and " I feel they are taking advantage of a vulnerable person he is in his 70s, what can I do"
I was pointing out that being 70 and a pensioner doesn't automatically make you a "vulnerable OAP" although it sounds good when castigating the supply company. It's also a stereotype that's often employed by those who should really know better but wish to try and score a point or gain sympathy against some perceived act or omission.
In fact I was chatting to an 84 year old today who still builds model boats and flies radio controlled aeroplanes. I asked him what he though about being called a vulnerable OAP - I wont repeat his replyNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
JosieJ could you give us the readings from your 2012 bill and from your final one when you changed suppliers. There will have been several revisions to tariff over the years so it will be difficult to determine what should or should not have been paidNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
