My question to you is, what usually happens in the appeal process, will they write back regardless or email to acknowledge I've appealed etc or is it just a case of they'll write back to me saying I've been a) successful or b) unsuccessful in my appeal

Without reading into my background, short replies please as I know my financial situation and background doesn't help.

So you could have cut that down to the last paragraph. The rest of your post is irrelevant to the question asked.

I imagine they'll write to you with their decision.
