I generally find this forum very helpful, which is why I said this was unusual.

You're picking at the semantics and taking issue with me saying I done everything I was supposed to apart from preparing for scammers, so you decided to focus on being right and turn the issue into a blame game instead of offering helpful advice for the issue at hand; like cancel the key, if PP has any legal responsibilities as a company before auto-issuing refunds out your account, or any other recourse I may not have considered.

Since you like semantics, I suggest that it's more accurate to say it's not this forum that isn't for me, but perhaps yourself. As I've accepted the loss, cancelled the key and closed the matter with PP; this thread probably should be too.

you may not like it but you accepted the risk using PP.
You even admit you would have used it anyway regardless
I knew beforehand that PP had something against digital items being sold but I didn't check because I would have used PP regardless anyway.

PP stopped covering digital items many years ago because it was a hotbed for scammers for both buyers and sellers.
So if you do use them for digital, its a risk you run.
Ive bought loads of digital items via PP and of course those sellers got and kept their funds.

But surely it's not their fault for not taking any steps to protect themselves.
After all, it's not as if they are a responsible adult!

I had several of these, and as soon as I showed delivery confirmation, they returned my money. I do not know what happened to the buyer. I think they returned their money, and PayPal incurred losses.

I'm not sure you have full read the thread. If this had been a tangible item with confirmation of delivery to the geographic address provided by paypal then a seller cannot lose the dispute, I've won a few myself. However this was a intangible item that was not posted- merely emailed, and therefore not covered by paypal seller protection.
